Behind The Scenes Weaving A New Narrative

Giant balls of wool float around the artist as she simultaneously weaves and unweaves her dress, symbolizing the cyclical nature of creation and destruction. Inspired by Penelope's myth, this process represents freedom from stereotypical roles and empowers the creation of a new narrative of self-determination. The colorful wool balls, reminiscent of heavy jail balls, are affixed to the dress and captured in the air as they are thrown from beyond the photo frame, adding a sense of dynamism and motion to the scene. Meanwhile, the artist patiently weaves in an endless cycle of creation, seemingly utilizing supernatural powers to free herself from the balls by manipulating them with her extraordinary abilities.

Behind The Scenes Boiling Spells

A pasta poem springs to life, resisting the cook's attempts to boil it. The scene unfolds a playful dialogue between the nurturing yet controlling cook and the determined pasta, symbolizing themes of freedom and resistance within the kitchen's enchanting realm. The phrases were written with dried pasta and suspended using transparent string in the scene. The photograph was captured with a slow shutter speed, allowing the movement of light to create a magical, mysterious atmosphere around the letters.

Behind The Scenes Trails of Color

The creation of "Trails of Color" unfolds as vibrant hues dance across the canvas, moving in synchronicity with the artist's motions. As the colors swirl and intertwine, they leave behind traces of their journey, forming intricate patterns and trails reminiscent of sacred rituals and indigenous healing art. These large-scale watercolor paintings create a space, inviting the viewer to draw closer and engage in the unfolding magic and motion within.
